In the light of the increasing use of EPS overhangs, they
are explicitly included in the EF-96 standard, replacing the
previous EF-88.
Section
3.– Conditions of beam layout pieces.
3.1 Lightening pieces
The lightening pieces
can be made of ceramic material, concrete, expanded polystyrene
or other sufficiently rigid materials that do not cause damage
to concrete or frameworks. These pieces are not considered
to form a part of resistant section of the rafters.
All
beam layout pieces are capable of supporting a characteristic
load of 1.0 kN, uniformly distributed across a plate of 200
x 75 x 25 mm, situated in the most unfavourable area of the
piece and its reaction to fire behaviour will reach a classification
of at least of M-1, in accordance with the UNE 23.727/90 standard.
3.2
Resistant pieces
The beam layout pieces can be made of ceramic material or
concrete and will meet the conditions indicated for the lightening
pieces in section 3.1.

Art. 16.– Conditions for the materials
16.1
Lining materials used in evacuation routes
The materials used as linings or surface finishes in corridors,
stairways and areas on evacuation routes must belong to the
class indicated in table 2 or higher.
16.2
Materials included in walls and enclosures
When a material that constitutes a layer contained inside
a floor, wall or roof is of a more unfavourable class than
required for lining these construction materials, the layer
or set of layers located between this material and the lining
must be at least RF-30.
16.3
Other materials
The materials placed on the inside of suspended ceilings or
raised floors, which are used for thermal insulation and soundproofing,
and those that constitute or line air-conditioning and ventilation
ducts, must belong to class M-1, or higher.

Residential use
The materials used as linings or surface finishes in rooms
used for accommodation must have a classification of at least
M-3, in the case of floors and M-2 in the case of walls and
roofs. Curtains and other decorative elements must be class
M-1. |
